Every year at Baselworld when I traipse the halls at Baselworld I search for reoccurring themes. Although I don’t have much time because I am multitasking and working. One thing that always stands out to me is emeralds. I may be biased because I love them so dearly. No other gem offers the allure of a lush green emerald for me. I am instantly enthralled.
See a few of my favorite brand picks that absolutely outdid themselves with new renditions of some old classics.
Chopard – The Green Carpet Collection
They’ve used ethically mined Zambian emeralds from the Kagem mine in a gloriously green partnership with GEMFIELDS. In addition to the marquise and round emeralds, they’ve paired it with white diamonds from the IGC group, a member of Responsible Jewellery Council). Now that’s responsible fashion!
SUTRA – The Fan Collection
The new emerald spin on the iconic fan Jennifer Lopez rocked at the 2015 Met Gala in rubies. Sutra has paired pear shaped Columbian emeralds with round brilliant diamonds to create the perfect bright green version in bright white 18K gold metal. It doesn’t hurt that they sit like perfection on the ear.
Michael Gad – A special High Jewelry Collection
Specs coming soon. I don’t have many details on this spectacular piece other than the fact that my friend @TheDiamondsGirl is donning is in a mesmeric way! She surely knows how to put a jewel on and own it.
Picchiotti – The 50th Anniversary Imperial Collection
A magnificent pear-shaped diamond center and emerald ring that I would gladly accept as my future engagement ring. She is complete square-cut baguette emeralds and an additional elongated baguette diamond halo, set in 18K white gold. The is modern appeal with old world romance paired in one piece at its finest.
Y A F A Vintage
These on trend opposite earrings from Y A F A prove that everything in fashion comes back around. Their magnificent pear shaped diamond and emerald pears lay center to a halo of fancy cut diamond and emeralds for each ear as well as asscher cuts for their tops. I think I fainted. – photo credit my friend @ChampagneGem
With all my talk of how much I love emerald I am happy to say we have the rest of 2017 to relish in this year’s pantone color. In my opinion, the perfect for any occasion, delightfully incomparable, color of foliage and many currencies: GREENERY!
